Cantor Resigns From Congress

RPV Chairman Pat Mullins issued the following statement:

"Eric Cantor has been a tireless servant for the people of Central Virginia for his entire career. From his earliest days in the House of Delegates to his time as the Majority leader of the House of Representatives, he has been an unwavering voice for the principles we all hold dear."

"His decision to step aside early is one last selfless act. In so doing, he gives the 7th District - and the balance of Virginia - a stronger voice in Congress, and ensures that Dave Brat will be seated on Nov. 5, ready to fight for our shared conservative values in what promises to be a very active lame-duck session of Congress."

"Eric Cantor will be missed, but I have every confidence that Dave Brat will be a worthy successor. I look forward to seeing him take the oath of office on Nov. 5th, having him as my Congressman, and working with him for many years to come."
