The following release is from the Howell for Delegate campaign:
FALMOUTH, VA – Senators Richard Stuart and Bryce Reeves, two of the General Assembly’s leading conservatives, on Friday endorsed Delegate Bill Howell for re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates. Senators Stuart and Reeves both represent parts of the 28th House District. They join a growing list of local elected officials and community leaders supporting Delegate Howell.
“Bill Howell is a proven, conservative leader that I am proud to call a friend and colleague. Bill is known for his steady demeanor, integrity and humility. We work together closely on a number of issues, and I know that Bill always puts the best interests of our region first,” said Senator Richard Stuart. “Bill’s record of cutting $7 billion in proposed spending since 2007, fighting against Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion and protecting the 2nd Amendment rights of Virginians makes him worthy of our vote. I am excited to support him for re-election.”
Speaking about the endorsement Senator Bryce Reeves said, “Before my election four years ago, Bill Howell and the Republican House of Delegates stood as the firewall against the Democrat controlled Senate. After I was elected and with Republicans in control of the Senate, we were able to pass conservative legislation to strengthen the 2nd Amendment rights of Virginians and promote the cause of life in Virginia. When Democrats took control again last year, Bill and the House once again held the line, defeating Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion. Now, with Republicans once again in control of the Senate, we have worked with Speaker Howell’s majority in the House to pass a conservative, balanced budget that spends nearly $1 billion less than the original budget. Whether it’s holding the line against the Democrats or working with Republicans in the Senate, conservatives can count on Bill Howell.”
