Governor Bob McDonnell says he will continue the fight for offshore drilling for oil. With last weeks accident off the coast of Louisiana there is a concern, among many of us that want to expand drilling, that momentum is being lost, but fortunately McDonnell is not deterred. In fact he is scheduled to speak in Houston on Monday at the 2010 offshore technology conference, where he will promote offshore drilling as a way to increase jobs, and protect national security.
Kudos to the Governor. Our security and economy may very well depend on our ability to produce more energy. It is true accidents can happen, but we must move forward if our country is to remain economically strong.
