Virginia Announces New System To Deport Criminal Aliens

Some good news, Virginia officials announced today that they have enhanced computer cross-checking of Virginia criminal records with federal databases. This cross checking will allow authorities to identify and prioritize the deportation of aliens who commit serious crimes, and should help stop a suspect from going undetected.
According to the Richmond Times Dispatch:

Federal and state officials said the enhanced network, dubbed "Secure Communities" is up and running in Virginia -- one of 22 states using the technology. The system relies on the automated matching of biometric data gathered by Virginia, the Department of Justice and the Deparment of Homeland Security.

Such a system should help keep Virginia safer.
