Hurt Leads Perriello in The 5th

According to a new poll Rep. Tom Perriello (D) trails state Sen. Robert Hurt (R) by 6 points in the hotly contested 5th district race.
The GOP leaning polling firm, Ayres McHenry & Associates gave Hurt a 49 percent to 43 percent lead among likely voters. The poll also pegged Obama's approval rating in the district at 45 percent favorable, 50 percent unfavorable.
The poll concludes that Perriello's vote in favor of President Obama's health-care plan "is his greatest tested weakness." It also found that overwhelmingly voters are concerned most about Jobs and the economy.

The poll did not include conservative leaning independent, Jeffrey Clark.
