McDonnell Praises George Allen

Yesterday, potential Senate rival Corey Stewart said George Allen was just a mediocre Senator, in response Governor McDonnell weighed in to praise Allen. From today's Washington Post:

"I think a lot of George Allen,'' McDonnell said on his monthly radio show Tuesday on WTOP. "I served with him in the legislature when he was governor. He was the most dynamic governor of the modern age. I think he was an exceptional governor. He was a very good senator."

Yeah, this criticism seems somewhat unfair. After all, Allen was a one-termer, and in an institution driven by seniority, it's difficult to make any meaningful mark in one term. Of course, Senator Allen would be criticized as a "show horse" if he had done so, so I suppose it's damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Hey James, thanks for the comment. I agree with you.
Personally, I had problems with the GOP congress and the Bush Administration, but I think Allen was an excellent Senator.
