Well, it's not actually a county, but Forbes magazine listed Falls Church Virginia as the wealthiest county in America. No doubt the fact that Falls Church is the home to so many Federal employees made the difference.
They don't make cars in Falls Church, they work for the Feds. Great work if you can get it.

How many automobile plants do we have in this area (besides VW -I think)?
Do top Feds get paid more than the tops in private companies?
How many lawyers live in Falls Church? Who aren't employed by the government, I mean?
Thanks for the comment. My point is that Falls Church is a company towm, and the company is the Federal government. They pay really well in good times and bad. And unlike the private sector they are not going to lay people off, and they will never run out of money.
