ACTION ALERT: HOUSE TO VOTE ON RAISING THE DEBT CEILING THIS WEEK -- Contact YOUR legislators

The following is a guest post by my friend Tammy Parada

"We have just learned that the House of Representatives will vote early next week on whether to raise the debt ceiling. This is the first opportunity for your Representative to go on record regarding the very important issue of raising the national debt limit.
A clear majority of Americans (65%) oppose raising the debt ceiling. Congress is expected to debate and vote on this issue. Please send A MESSAGE TO YOUR CONGRESSMAN (AND SENATORS)!
OUR MESSAGE:  "I OPPOSE raising the debt ceiling, period."
Recommended language:
"Whereas politicians have amassed an unsustainable debt burden totaling $1.6 trillion this year, $15 trillion by the end of this year and more than $113 trillion when counting unfunded liabilities, and; Whereas the current President and Congress have shown no capacity to significantly reduce spending and debt,
Therefore, I am forwarding this communication stating my opposition to any increase in the legal federal debt limit. It is time for Congress and the President to get serious about cutting spending. Do Not Increase The Debt Ceiling! Cut Spending!"  (Grassfire.com)
