Dick Black Wins GOP Primary

Former Delegate Dick Black edged out Gainesville District Supervisor John Stirrup (R) Tuesday night to win the 13th district state Senate Republican primary.  In a statement released last night Black thanked his supporters:
“Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work, prayers and encouragement.   I am so grateful for everyone who worked so hard to make this victory possible.  Hundreds of volunteers worked all day manning polls, talking to voters and getting our positive message out to the voters and our message resonated with voters.

As we head to the November elections, I am confident that we will have a party united like never before.  With Republicans only a few seats away from gaining control of the Virginia Senate, this will be an important pick up.

I look forward to taking our positive message to voters in the General Election.   On to November!”
