Battle of Brandy Station - 150th Anniversary

I thought this distinguished group might be interested in a special sesquicentennial tour of the Brandy Station battlefield. The FREE tour is on Saturday, June 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. -- and just one day prior to the 150th anniversary of the battle, fought June 9, 1863.

For those of you not familiar with Brandy Station, it was the largest cavalry battle ever fought in North America. More than 20,000 troopers in blue and gray fought in this see-saw struggle that saw the emergence of the Union cavalry as a potent military force. The battle is considered the beginning of the Gettysburg Campaign.

The tour is hosted by a local group: The Loudoun County Civil War Roundtable. They are expecting about 200 people. Unfortunately, I am not able to attend the tour, but you can RSVP here:
