Former House of Delegates Speaker John Warren Cooke has passed away. Cooke died at his home in Mathews Virginia over the weekend.
Cooke spent 12 years as House majority leader before becoming speaker in 1968. Cooke was described in a 1979
Washington Post article, "one of the state's most powerful but little-noticed officials."
Rest in peace Mr.Speaker.
