Metro Board Set to Deny McDonnell Administration

With all the problems that the Washington Metro system faces you would would think they would accept some grown up supervision. Well, you are wrong, according to the Washington post, the 14 member metro board has decided to turn down the McDonnell administrations request for two new seats on the board. Seems it is ok for the state government to help fund the Metro, but otherwise Richmond should keep their nose out of it.

The Metro Board does include two representatives from Fairfax County, one from Arlington County and the Alexandria mayor(ironically all Democrats). However, since taxpayers from all over the commonwealth of Virginia are funding the system the McDonnell administration wanted to be able to appoint two more members. Seems reasonable to me.
