Turnout for the Mid Term Elections Tops 45 Percent

Turnout in the Old Dominion for the midterm elections was just over 45 percent, according to the Virginia Board of Elections.  That is pretty good when you consider that last years Governors race drew a turnout of 43 percent.

Turnout was highest in the 4 most competitive races, Districts, 2nd, 9th, 11th, but the Hurt vs Perriello race, the 5th congressional district, saw the highest turnout, where 52.7 percent of registered voters came to the polls.
