There are two special elections being held today. One House of Delegates seat, and one State Senate seat. Greg Habeeb, the Republican nominee, is facing Democrat Ginger Mumpower in the 8th District. That seat was held by Morgan Griffith, which was vacated with his election to Congress. And the 19th Senate District, which was vacated after Robert Hurt's election to Congress. Bill Stanley is the Republican candidate.
I am predicting a decent turnout, and I believe Republicans will hold both seats.
