Annual Galax Old Time Fiddlers Convention. The date of the dinner is
August 11, 2012 at 6pm at the gated private picnic grounds above the
Fiddlers Convention. Last year The Poormans Dinner had around 400
people attending. Gov. Bob Mc Donnell, Gov. Tim Kaine, Sen. George
Allen, Gen. Ken Cuccinelli, Lt Gov Bill Bolling, Sen. Mark Warner,
Officials from the Governors Cabinet, Federal, State Senators,
Delegates, Lobbists and many Local Officals have attended in the past.
the events Major Sponsors are Twin County Regional Chamber of
Commerce, Norfolk Southern, Alpha Natural Resources, Consol Energy,
Range Resources ,Bruce Wingo, Marty Hall and others. If you plan to
run for office this is the place to be... also the BBQ dinner will
again be by The Famous SmokeHouse BBQ in Galax and David Bailey of
Richmond will be M.C. of the event. PBS TV will be taping the event
for shows. and other media will be talking to the officals. Marty Hall
