Metro Board Approves Largest Fare Increase in History

Despite declining service and safety, the Washington Metro Board, made up of 14 Democrats, has decided to raise fares. And according to WTOP it is the largest increase in the systems history.
I like the metro and believe it is necessary, but I just wish we could put some people in charge who will straighten up the system before socking the commuter and taxpayer. Sadly, I don't think that will happen. Like all government agencies there is little incentive to perform, it is just easier to ask for more money.

Corey Stewart said something just the other day regarding transportation expenses. He related the fact that PW Co spends on roads, building & maintaining thereof; whereas Fx Co spends on building/maintaining Metro. Something's gotta give. We cannot sustain the expenses & we cannot pass on fees to users.
